A Mentor and a Student
Every year, millions of people in rural China leave their families behind to find work in cities. Their children stay. They grow up in their communities, attend school, and navigate adolescence largely without their parents around. Angela, who works for Deloitte China, volunteers her time to provide guidance to girls like Wei — nurturing their confidence, building their skills, and helping them see what's possible. The initiative creates environments where young women can develop self-esteem, self-management and social awareness: the kind of foundations that stay with you. Shooting this project was about finding the human connection inside a big systemic story — and Wei gave us that, effortlessly.
