David Grégoire is a researcher at the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour, working at the intersection of materials science and environmental responsibility.
His work looks at how natural structures, particularly shells, can inspire stronger and more sustainable forms of concrete. By incorporating discarded oyster shells from nearby Arcachon into new building materials, his research transforms marine waste into a local resource.
Photographing David meant stepping into a world where coastal ecosystems and construction science quietly overlap.
